Welcome to Tring Hockey Club
Tring Hockey Club nestles in the Chiltern Hills on the edge of the market town of Tring, on the Hertfordshire / Buckinghamshire border.
We
are a social bunch, who put as much effort into socialising as into training
and playing. We run men's, ladies, ladies and gents veterans and super
veterans teams as well as a development side for up and coming players
with real potential. We also have a 150 strong colts section that meet
on a Sunday morning. They take part in many local tournaments. All of
these teams compete in leagues each Saturday, our men competing in the
MBBO, our ladies in the 5 Counties league and our veterans and super vets
in the London League. We also play summer hockey and enter all national
and regional Cup competitions. In 1999, our men's first team won the inaugural
National Vase competition at the National Stadium in Milton Keynes.
We have a club training night each Wednesday at 8.00pm at the Astro pitch at Tring Sports Centre, just half a mile from the club. We also run training sessions for Colts hockey on Sunday mornings between 9.30am and 12.30pm (please check the colts page for age groups. Tring Hockey Club has links with Hilversum Hockey Club in Holland where we have an annual tour around June. They also visit us in September for a veterans tournament. We also visit Guernsey frequently and have started a new tour to Bra in Italy.
The clubhouse offers a friendly atmosphere for all ages, and is open most evenings and weekends. There are excellent facilities which include a fully licensed bar, Sky TV and pool table, plus there is freshly cooked food available at weekends. There are a variety of social events held throughout the year and the club can cater for private functions as well.
We welcome new members, both playing and social, at any time during the year.
