Tring Hockey Club is a family friendly, well established and successful hockey club. We take our hockey seriously, but enjoy socialising in the superb clubhouse just as much!

Ladies 2nd XI just missed out on promotion and finished 3rd in their league ( final results just in!) Promotion will only be possible if leagues above are reorganized! Wait and see!

50 / 50 Draw

The 50/50 Draw is a new fund raising initiative which enables you to win cash prizes every week and also raise money for your club. It is due to start on Saturday 3rd May 2008.

For just £ 1 per week you are entered into the weekly draw which will be held at Tring Park Cricket Club every Saturday evening. There will be five cash prizes every week and also a chance to play for a jackpot if you are in the club when your number is drawn.

Membership is payable by Standing Order or cheque and forms can be obtained from Gareth or Lindsay at the bar.

MIXED SUMMER LEAGUE

Tring has entered a team into the Milton Keynes Mixed Summer Hockey League again this year. It runs from May to July. Matches are played on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at the water-based astro pitches in Woughton. The aim of summer league is for Tring’s hockey elite to keep their hockey brains in gear over the summer months ahead of the all important winter season and of course to have fun!

TIM HOLGATES YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

The club invested in youth development this season in a big way! One venture was to fund hockey in schools. Tim Holgate and “Winning TRY” provided this successful venture This is what Tim did;-

- Uni-hock coaching in 7/8 schools in the tring & berko area.
- 14 hours per week spread across the schools
- The sessions were progressive starting with dribbling one week, then passing, shooting, tackling, and matches.
- The children and teachers loved all the lessons. 17 out of the 19 classes attend the tournament.
- About a dozen new members have signed up last season due to the lessons and more will sign up next year due to the success of the tournment on the astro turf!!

Year 6 - Dundale

A very even split not dominated by any of the schools - trophies were given to the captains of the winning teams present by Patrick Barr.

Peter Simmons the Herts Hockey Development officer was also present and spoke with teachers.
